Used extensively in the United States. Authentic palm leaves from Sable palm trees deep in the woods. This is a replenishable, renewable and earth friendly resource.
Palm Thatch can be used on any roof in place of regular roof shingles as well as frame structures. They can be used indoors or outdoors to make any home or business look tropical. When installed as instructed, palm leaf structures are waterproof. You can install fans and tv/stereo systems in your structure. Used indoors, palm leaves will last indefinitly. Used outdoors, palm leaves will last 5-7 years in wet, humid climates and twice as long in hot, dry climates.
Installation is simple and can be done yourself. Palm leaves are easier and faster to put on than cedar shingles. Minimum suggested pitch is 30 degrees, steeper pitch increases longevity of the palm leaves. Install the palm leaves in layered courses, 2-3 inches apart, approx 16" on center. Suggested fastening is 1 3/4" roofing nail.
To figure out how many palm leaves you will need for your project, multiply your sq foot area by 1.206 which equals your total sq footage (L x W x 1.206)
sq footage multiplied by 3 equals total leaves plus 10% wastage.
African reed is made from a Southern African Cape Reed known as Dekriet. Thatch reed panels are a heavy duty panel. The binding strip used on the african reed thatch is a two part polyurethane mix, reinforced with a woven mesh. The binding strip is flexible, allowing the thatch reed panels to bend and curve to conform to unusual roof lines.
Thatch reed panels can be used on existing roofs or on wood or steel frames, such as umbrellas. They require no maintance or cleaning.
When installed as instructed, African reed thatch is 99% waterproof. The panels are used to enhance the authenticity of backyard tiki bars and other structures. Other then great authentic appearance, African reed panels offer an additional benefit such as allowing trapped heat to escape through the reeds. Thatch reed panels will keep your structure 5-10 degrees cooler then other covered structures
Installation is very simple and doesn't require any special skills. Can be installed in neat straight lines or soft wavy irregular lines. Minimum suggested pitch is 30 degrees, steeper pitcher increases the longevity and waterproofability. African reed is to be installed in layered courses, at 12" on center, overlapping the previous course by 5 inches. The thatch reed panels can be stapled or nailed to battens or a plywood subroof.

Tahiti thatch is a rustic looking natural eco-friendly and sustanable material. It is a thick and full looking, flexible thatch. Tahiti thatch creates a wonderful palm atmosphere for any type of commercial or residential project. Tahiti thatch offers extreme durability in the harshest of weather conditions.
When installed as directed, tahiti thatch is 98% waterproof. Tahiti thatch will last 5-6 years in wet humid climates and longer in dryer climates.
Tahiti thatch installation is very simple. Installed in neat straight lines. Minimum suggested pitch is 33 degrees, steeper pitch increase longevity and waterproofability. Tahiti thatch is installed in layered courses, at 12-15" on center, overlapping the previous course by 8-11". The thatch panels can be stapled or nailed to battens or zip tied to steel framing. Nylon rope can be cut and retied if thatch needs to be sized.

Mexican rain cape is a simple inexpensive approach to create an authentic palm thatch look. It adds decorative accent to your structure in your home or business. Mexican rain cape is often used in commercial industries as indoor decor as in hotels, resorts, spas, restaurants, stores and much more. Mexican rain cape is hand woven from palm leaf strips in Mexico. These are a replenishable, renewable, eco-friendly resource. They are a very light material.
Mexican rain cape is not waterproof, it is purley for shade covering or decorative purposes. For applications requiring waterproofing, we recommend installing a regular subroof using regular 3/4" plywood substrate covered with felt or ice and water sheild. When installed as directed Mexican rain cape will last indefinitly on indoor use and 1-2 years outdoors in wet, humid climates and approximately double that in hot dry climates. This product is not recommended for exterior permenant structures because of its short life expentancy in southern climates and all northern climates. Exceptions being umbrellas that are used seasonally or extremly dry climates.
Mexican rain cape installation is very simple and doesnt require any special skills, heavy duty staples or zip ties work well. Minimum suggested pitch is 30 degrees, steeper pitch increases longevity. Installed by stapling to battens or a plywood subroof. For subsequent courses, allow the fringe of the next panel to overhang the panel in the proceding course. Panels are butted side to side, overlapping just a few inches. Mexican rain cape is versitle and can be cut into any shape by simply cutting between the knots without unraveling.
